Quick answer
Fill in the title, description, page URL and share image, and the tool generates the code for your <head>: title, meta description, canonical, robots, Open Graph, Twitter Card, hreflang, favicon and JSON-LD (WebSite, Organization, Article, Product). Alongside are length checks, URL errors and share previews for Facebook, Zalo and X. Press “Copy all code” to paste it into your site.
What are meta tags and which ones do you need?
Meta tags are lines of code in a page's <head>. Visitors never see them, but Google, Facebook, Zalo and browsers read them to learn the page's name, what it's about, which image to show when shared and whether it may be indexed. Missing or wrong tags mean shared links without images, odd titles in Google and language versions treated as duplicates. This tool gathers the essential tags into one form, escapes special characters and skips anything left blank.

How to generate meta tags
- 1
Fill in “Main details”: page title, description, full URL (used as the canonical) and site name. Press “Fill in an example” to see a sample.
- 2
Add the share image URL (1200 × 630 px recommended) and its description; check the Facebook, Zalo and X previews on the right.
- 3
Open “More options” if needed: page type, locale, X card type, favicon, blocking indexing and language versions (hreflang).
- 4
Choose the structured data type (JSON-LD) that matches the page and fill in its fields.
- 5
Review “Quick checks”, fix anything flagged in yellow or red, then press “Copy all code” and paste it into your <head>.
Tags the tool creates and who reads them
| Tag | What it does | Read by |
|---|---|---|
| <title> | The page name in the browser tab and the main source for its Google title | Browsers, Google, Bing |
| meta description | A page summary, often used as the snippet under the title | Google, Bing, social networks (when og:description is missing) |
| link rel="canonical" | Names the main URL when the same content has several addresses | Google, Bing |
| meta robots | noindex (keep out of search results), nofollow (don't follow links) | Google, Bing |
| og:title, og:description, og:image, og:url… | Title, description and image when a link is shared | Facebook, Zalo, LinkedIn, Messenger and many chat apps |
| twitter:card, twitter:site | Card type (large or small image) and the site's X account; everything else comes from og:* | X (Twitter) |
| link rel="alternate" hreflang | Declares the page's translations for each language | |
| link rel="icon", apple-touch-icon, theme-color | Tab icon, home-screen icon and browser bar colour | Browsers, iOS, Android |
| JSON-LD | Structured data saying whether the page is a website, organisation, article or product | Google and other search engines |
Choosing a JSON-LD type
| Type | Use it on | Fields the tool fills |
|---|---|---|
| WebSite | The home page | Site name, URL |
| Organization | The home page or an about-the-company page | Name, URL, logo |
| Article | Articles, news, blog posts | Headline, description, image, publish date, author |
| Product | A single product page | Name, description, image, brand, price, currency |
The tool doesn't generate FAQPage or HowTo: since August 2023 Google shows FAQ rich results only for well-known government and health sites, and it has stopped showing HowTo rich results.
Examples
A product page shared on Zalo
Fill in the product name, description and a 1200 × 630 px image, choose the “Product” page type and Product JSON-LD with a price of 59.90 USD. When the link is sent on Zalo, the preview shows the image, name and description instead of a bare URL.
A bilingual site
In the hreflang box enter “vi https://example.com/vi/”, “en https://example.com/” and “x-default https://example.com/”. Paste the same lines into both language versions so Google understands they're translations of each other.
A staging page that shouldn't be on Google yet
Untick “Let Google index the page”: the tool adds <meta name="robots" content="noindex, follow"> and shows a warning so you remember to remove it at launch.
Common problems
- Links shared on Facebook or Zalo have no image.
- og:image is missing or uses a relative path (“/img/a.jpg”). og:image must be a full URL starting with https:// and the image must be publicly accessible.
- The image was changed but Facebook still shows the old one.
- Facebook caches link data. Use Meta's Sharing Debugger to refresh it; Zalo also caches for a while.
- Every page has a canonical pointing to the home page.
- The canonical should point to the page's own URL (or the original if it's a duplicate). Pointing everything at the home page can keep inner pages out of results.
- Forgetting to remove noindex at launch.
- Check the robots tag before going live; the tool shows a yellow warning while noindex is on.
- Still filling in meta keywords.
- Google Search doesn't use the keywords meta tag, so the tool doesn't generate it.
- hreflang declared on one side only.
- Google requires hreflang pages to link to each other; every language version must list all versions, including itself.
Open Graph: the title and image when shared
Open Graph is the tag set introduced by Facebook (ogp.me) and now read by most social networks and chat apps, including Zalo and Messenger, to build link previews. The four basic tags are og:title, og:type, og:image and og:url; add og:description and og:site_name for a complete card.
Images work best at roughly 1.91:1, most commonly 1200 × 630 px, with important text kept in the centre because each platform crops differently. The previews in the tool approximate each platform's layout; they aren't real screenshots.
Why there's no FAQPage or HowTo
On 8 August 2023 Google announced that FAQ rich results would only be shown for well-known, authoritative government and health websites, and it reduced HowTo results; by September 2023 HowTo rich results were no longer shown at all. For most sites these two markup types no longer change how results look, so the tool keeps only the useful types: WebSite, Organization, Article and Product.
JSON-LD helps Google understand a page, but Google doesn't guarantee rich results. After adding the code, test it with Google's Rich Results Test.
Adding the code to your site
The code goes inside the <head> element, before the closing </head>.
- Static HTML: paste it straight into each page's <head>.
- WordPress: SEO plugins usually generate the title, description and Open Graph already; add only what's missing to avoid duplicates.
- Next.js, Nuxt and other frameworks: move the values into the framework's metadata configuration instead of pasting raw tags.
- Every page needs its own title, description, canonical and image; don't reuse one set of tags across the site.
Glossary
- Meta tag
- A line of code in the <head> that gives browsers, search engines and social networks information about the page.
- Open Graph (og:)
- Tags that define the title, description and image of a shared link.
- Canonical
- The main URL of a piece of content, which helps search engines consolidate duplicate URLs.
- hreflang
- An attribute declaring the language and region of each translation; x-default is the fallback when no language matches.
- JSON-LD
- A way of writing schema.org structured data as JSON inside a <script> tag.
- noindex
- Asks search engines not to include the page in their results.
Frequently asked questions
How long should the title and description be?
Google sets no limit but truncates by display width; titles of about 50–60 characters and descriptions of about 150–160 usually show in full. The SERP snippet preview gives a more precise check.
Which tags does Zalo read?
Zalo builds link previews from Open Graph tags (og:title, og:description, og:image), so filling in the Open Graph section is enough.
Do I need Twitter tags if I have Open Graph?
X falls back to og:title, og:description and og:image when the matching twitter tags are missing, so the tool only adds twitter:card and twitter:site.
Will meta tags get me to the top of Google?
The title helps Google and people understand the page; the description influences whether people click. Rankings depend mostly on the content and quality of the page.
Why is FAQPage missing?
Since 2023 Google shows FAQ rich results only for authoritative government and health sites and has dropped HowTo, so for most sites these types no longer change how results look.
Is what I enter stored?
No. The code is generated in your browser; preview images load directly from the URL you enter.
