Quick answer
To make a collage, choose 2 to 30 images, pick “Side by side”, “Stacked” or “Grid”, drag them into order, set spacing, rounded corners and background, then click “Create collage” and download a JPG, PNG or WebP. Everything happens in your browser; nothing is uploaded.
What is an image collage?
A collage puts several photos next to each other in one image: before-and-after shots, a product in every colour, a long chat thread made of screenshots, or a set of holiday moments. The result is an ordinary image file you can post anywhere or send in a message.

How to combine photos into one image
- 1
Click “Choose files”, drag and drop, or paste 2 to 30 images (JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP, AVIF). You can add more later with “Add images”.
- 2
Choose a “Layout”: “Grid” (pick the number of columns and a 1:1, 4:5, 16:9, 9:16 or automatic frame), “Side by side” or “Stacked”.
- 3
Reorder in “Image order” by dragging the handle or with the Move up / Move down buttons. Set spacing, rounded corners and background colour (or a transparent background when exporting PNG or WebP).
- 4
Pick the long side of the collage (1,200, 2,400 or 4,000 px) and a format, click “Create collage”, check it and download.
The three layouts
| Layout | Arrangement | Are photos cropped? | Good for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Side by side | One row, every photo the same height | No, each photo keeps its frame | Before and after, hand-made panoramas |
| Stacked | One column, every photo the same width | No, each photo keeps its frame | Chat screenshots, step-by-step recipes |
| Grid | Equal cells by number of columns | Yes, cropped around the centre to fill | Product variants, memories, social posts |

In a grid, an incomplete last row is centred. The “Auto” frame uses the average shape of your photos, which crops the least.
Grid frames by destination
| Frame | Use it for |
|---|---|
| 1:1 (square) | Square posts, profile images, product grids |
| 4:5 (portrait) | Portrait social posts, which take more space in a phone feed |
| 16:9 (landscape) | Cover images, slides, desktop screens |
| 9:16 (tall) | Stories, phone wallpapers |
Real-world examples
Before and after a renovation
Choose 2 photos, “Side by side”, 1% spacing, white background. They sit next to each other at the same height, uncropped.
Six colours of one shirt
Choose 6 photos, “Grid”, 3 columns, 1:1 frame, 4% rounded corners. You get one square image, 2 rows × 3 cells, ready for a listing.
A long chat as one image
Choose the screenshots in order, “Stacked”, spacing 0. The result reads continuously from top to bottom.
Common problems
- Heads or feet are cut off in the grid.
- Grid cells crop around the centre. Switch the frame to “Auto”, change the column count, or use “Side by side” / “Stacked” to keep every photo whole.
- “Couldn't create the collage”.
- Lower the long side to 2,400 or 1,200 px, or use fewer images. Phones have less memory than computers.
- The transparent background turned white.
- JPG has no transparency. Choose PNG or WebP, then turn on “Transparent background”.
- A side-by-side collage is very short.
- Many photos in one row make a long, thin image because the long side is capped. Use “Grid” with 2–3 columns.
Collage size and quality
The long side of the collage is 1,200, 2,400 or 4,000 px; the other side follows from the layout. Large photos are scaled down to fit their cell and small ones scaled up, which can look soft if the original is tiny. To stay within browser memory, a collage never exceeds 40 megapixels.
Spacing is a percentage of the long side and applies both between photos and around the edge; corner rounding is a percentage of each cell's short side. Animated GIFs contribute their first frame only.
Glossary
- Collage
- One image made from several photos placed side by side within a frame.
- Aspect ratio
- Width to height, for example 4:5 is a portrait image 4 parts wide and 5 parts tall.
- Cover crop
- Scaling a photo until it fills the cell, then trimming the excess on the sides or top and bottom, keeping the middle.
- Long side
- The larger dimension of an image (width for landscape, height for portrait).
Frequently asked questions
Are my photos uploaded?
No. They are read and combined in your browser.
How many photos can I combine?
Between 2 and 30 at a time, each up to 25 MB and 50 megapixels.
Can I change the order?
Yes. Drag the handle in “Image order” on a computer, or use the Move up / Move down buttons on a phone or with the keyboard.
Can the background be transparent?
Yes, when exporting PNG or WebP: turn on “Transparent background” and the spacing and rounded corners stay transparent.
Does combining reduce quality?
Photos are redrawn at the new size. For the sharpest result choose a 4,000 px long side and PNG; JPG at 85–90% is plenty for social media.
A photo is sideways in the collage?
The tool applies EXIF orientation when it opens each photo, so phone shots come out upright. If the original itself is sideways, fix it first with the “Rotate & Flip Image” tool.
